Artist: London Elektricity ft. Elsa Esmeralda  /  Song: Round the World in a Day  /  Album: Yikes [Hospital Records 2011]

As Richard’s relationship appears to crumble around him, he decides to get away from it all. Running around the world, the tortured soul finds himself getting into deeper and deeper trouble as he partakes in various acts of filth and crime.

Here’s a bit about the track and the video from London Elektricity’s Tony Colman…

‘The track itself is somewhat eccentric, sounding like a 1960’s garage band playing at d&b tempo with b movie atmospherics and a bridge that sounds a bit like The Smiths to me. I wrote the tune and recorded the guitar intro when i was 17 and i dug out the old reel to reel tape when i was putting the Yikes album together. Feels good to finally realise a musical idea I had 33 years ago!
Back to the video. As I said the track is pretty different, but nothing prepared me for the video. It’s about a dolphin who, believing he’s been jilted, leaves his homeland and heads for the west. he ends up being chased by the owner of an LA brothel. The gangster owner is of course an octopus. our dolphin is chased back across the ocean to home only to find……….well you’ll have to watch it!’
